I work with a group of students who have multiple disabilities, are medically fragile, and have high needs. Their families have other children in the household that are either very young or they also have special needs of their own.
Some of my students' parents have had to give up their job to stay home and care for their children, or are trying to balance work and family.
All of the parents of my students rely on the school for meals among other things.
My students have multiple disabilities and various sensory needs. My school has an amazing team of service providers that supply my students with whatever they need to meet these needs.
Unfortunately, the therapists are only able to work with my students virtually, so I would like to send home several sensory items to their home to help meet their needs they are missing out on by not being at school.
The items I am requesting are designed to help with fine motor skills and help build up strength in their hands, as well as giving them a calming weighted shoulder wrap if they start feeling over stimulated by being stuck at home.
