My Students
The students in my class range from Kindergarten to Third Grade. They all have a unique disability of some kind which requires extra supports from our Functional Skills Classroom.
Our students need a lot of sensory input to help them regulate and stay focused.
I have 8 students in my classroom. Each has a different sensory need. Each day is a new adventure. It is hard to predict what anxiety or stress they will come to school with each day.
My Project
Sensory input is vital to the needs of the students in my classroom. Having chairs with different sensory input will help fulfill each students unique sensory needs.
Each chair that I am requesting serves to fulfill a different sensory need for each student.
The Hokki stools provide just the right amount of movement that students receive sensory input while working. The pea pod chair will give students pressure on all sides of their body helping them to calm down when they are anxious. The bean bag chair is another texture that will provide sensory input to all sides of their body when the student sits in it.
Having these resources in my classroom would be a great help to meet the sensory needs of my classroom.
