My Project
We are asking our donors to help purchase new items for our classroom, including fidgets and puzzles, to help with sensory input and calming down. We have had previous DonorsChoose projects for fidgets funded, which are always well loved and eventually break down. We would like to have an opportunity for some fresh new items, as well as puzzles that can help with calming strategies.
My special education students are always seeking sensory input.
Fidgets are a safe and effective way to provide them with this input. My students are also very energetic and can sometimes be restless in class.
Your donation will help us with getting popular fidgets which include pop tubes (sound and movement), liquid motion sensory viewers (a great item to help with calming down), sensory chews (for my students needing a safe oral sensory item to put in their mouths), pop-its (which are fun fidgets that provide a fine motor opportunity when pushing/popping the never-ending bubbles), stress ball fidgets, pin art fidgets (which are the most popular in my room, and after a year the pins do begin to get loose), and finally puzzles which help with redirecting energy and focus on calming down.
