Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am a special education teacher at a Title 1 school. I teach 16 students ranging from 2nd to 3rd grade. All my students come from diverse backgrounds and have different needs. I need some sensory items that can help my students with their accommodations and disabilities.

Sensory items are great for children as they allow them to explore multiple senses, such as sight, sound, touch, and smell.

Fidget tools help students to increase concentration and attention to tasks. These items also help them build their fine motor skills.

My students love playing with the sensory materials. They enjoy running their hands through the filler material, and watching what happens as they pour, mold, and build it up. These sensory materials provide them with an incredible tactile sensation.
