Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work with student with disabilities in a diverse-by-design middle school in the heart of Los Angeles. We celebrate diversity, both seen and unseen, in all members of our community.
We are committed to serving our diverse population of students to become global citizens.
By design, our students have unique needs and sometimes require specialized support to meet those needs. For students with disabilities, inclusion is crucial for their academic and social-emotional development. All students have the right to a high quality education, and to feel like part of the community.
My Project
All student can benefit from movement breaks throughout the day!
For students who needs more scaffolded breaks, a sensory path is an evidence-based and fun way for kids to improve motor planning, fundamental motor skills, and build stronger sensory connections in the brain.
Sensory hallways can turn a break in an opportunity to build the skills that enable kids to complete complex, multi-step tasks. In our quest to support all learners, our school wants to create sensory hallway for all students to access when they need a creative way to take a break and get the brain ready to learn!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
