This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school consists of students that come from low income families. Every year there are more and more students getting diagnosed with special needs. My class consists of children ages 3-5 years old with multiple disabilities.

I teach preschool special education on a general education campus in California.

Little hands can't resist digging, kneeding, squeezing and playing. Sensory integration is such an important part of education these days for ALL children, especially with special needs. Exposing our students to different sensory needs is my goal for this year!

My Project

Little hands can't resist digging, kneading, squeezing and playing with this sensational sensory sand! It's virtually mess-free and is easy to mold and shape, but it's completely dry. This will create a unique sensation that will inspire hands-on, tactile exploration for my students.

The donations for this project will improve my classroom by reducing the amount of behavioral issues, because I will be able to provide the appropriate stimulation that my students need, but cannot voice, due to their disabilities.

With less behavioral issues, we can increase our learning and time on task. I'm looking forward to seeing my students happier and ready to learn.
