These resources made a tremendous difference in our reading community.\r\n\r\nEvery student now has their own copy to follow along, reread, and even take home—removing a major barrier to independent reading. Guided read-alouds became more meaningful and interactive: students followed the text, practiced pacing, and grew more confident reading aloud.\r\n\r\nOur class discussions also deepened because everyone could reference the same passages. The bookmarks helped students take ownership of their reading and build consistent reading habits.\r\n\r\nThese beloved stories sparked creativity across the classroom! We saw more students—especially quieter ones—volunteering to read aloud with improved expression and accuracy. Several students even asked for more books by E.B. White and Roald Dahl, showing genuine excitement for reading beyond class.\r\n\r\nOne especially memorable moment came during our read of Charlotte's Web. A student who often avoids reading followed along intently and said, \"I like that I can read along and can read it again.\" That sense of pride and ownership was priceless.\r\n\r\nThank you again for giving our students the gift of books, confidence, and a deeper love of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1758733034669,"projectUrl":"project/the-gift-of-reading-charlotte-charlie/9743780/","projectTitle":"The Gift of Reading: Charlotte, Charlie, and More!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Segura","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp263637_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1472349514498","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-segura"},{"teacherId":263637,"projectId":9455659,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, my students have been able to shine in new and exciting ways! The blank books will give them a chance to see themselves as real authors and illustrators—they will have opportunities to proudly share their \"published\" stories with classmates and families. The gel pens and tempera markers have added so much joy to our writing and art projects, making students more motivated to write and eager to express their ideas with creativity and color.\r\n\r\nThe pencil pouches have helped students take ownership of their learning by keeping their supplies organized and ready, which has built responsibility and independence. The homework folders have also made a big difference, helping students stay connected between school and home and giving families a clear window into their child's progress.\r\n\r\nOverall, these materials have not only supported academics but also boosted my students' confidence, creativity, and sense of pride in their work. Your contribution has truly transformed the energy, comfort, and engagement levels in our learning environment.\r\n\r\nA recent highlight was during our read-aloud session. Students gathered in different seating zones around the classroom, discussing characters and themes with such enthusiasm and focus. It was clear that the flexible seating arrangement helped them feel more at ease and engaged with their peers and the text.\r\n\r\nFlexible seating has supported my classroom beautifully; they can easily move into collaborative clusters or find quiet corners to write.
