This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of the greatest challenges our students face is managing sensory input and regulating emotions throughout the school day. This is where specialized tools such as sensory lighting and fidget items can make a significant difference. Sensory lighting—like soft, color-changing lamps or light filters—helps reduce overstimulation and creates a calming atmosphere in the classroom. Meanwhile, fidgets allow students to self-soothe, focus their energy, and engage more effectively in learning activities. A calming tent will provide a safe space for self-regulation when students are overstimulated and need a calm-down area to rest and relax.
