My kindergarteners are working hard to manage and control their emotions independently! We have worked really hard on helping them develop social emotional skills to help them when they feel upset, stressed, frustrated, sad or impulsive. They have learned breathing techniques and exercises to help but would benefit from some hands on tools.
We want a space for them to go if they need to calm down.
We believe in the social emotional health of ALL students and want them to have access to supplies that will help them calm down when they are angry, sad, stressed, or frustrated. We will use the SPOT books to teach the children about emotions and how how to identify what they are feeling. We want to create a calm down space where they can use the fidget toys, calming bubbles and other supplies to manage their own emotions, without being bothered by others.
