This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love the energy my students bring to my class. They are curious, energetic and love exploring. However, due to their autism, it is difficult for them to remain on task during instruction. Sensory toys and activities keep them adequately stimulated so they can remain focused in the lesson.

I can speak from experience, sensory items, such as fidget toys, a clock, puzzles, and other sensory activities and toys contribute to greater academic success by keeping the students calm and engaged during the lesson.

These items impact the student behavior and the classroom behavior as a whole.
