My Project
The materials I have requested will provide my students with new sensory and tactile activities to encourage exploration and learning. They will also provide soothing and calming stimulation to those who have sensory needs. COVID-19 has impacted my students in varying ways. Many have language and communication delays and wearing a mask daily has made it challenging for them to express their wants and needs effectively, and this has had an impact on their self-regulation skills and sensory needs.
My students are learning positive ways to self-regulate their emotions and sensory needs and these materials give them a variety of options to choose from since the ways to cope and regulate vary from child to child.
My students love to learn and play with their hands and bodies but also need support to calm those wiggles so they are able to focus and engage in learning.
I'm excited to watch my students discover and self-regulate with these materials that provide sensory and tactile learning!
