My Project
My students consist of ages 3, 4, and 5 years and are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. My substantially separate classroom is made up of 10 amazing students. Many of my students struggle with sensory processing disorder ( touch, smells, sounds, and being aware of their surroundings). Sensory perceptions can be very frightening for students and at times painful, which can lead to anxiety and difficulty feeling comfortable in their environment.
My students deserve to feel welcoming and have a comfortable classroom environment where learning can take place.These items will provide hands on opportunities for my students to explore their creativity through sensory integration.
