My Project
I teach a class of pre-k students with special needs. We have a variety of abilities in the classroom, each with its own sensory needs. We would love to have different textures and fun things to explore during centers and free time. Some students are learning to form letters and write their names. Other students need the tactile textures of sensory mats and sand.
I would love for my students to be able to explore the classroom at their level and in their own way.
Learning to work on a sustained activity independently is an important skill for pre-k students. These items can be a stepping stone for some of my students who have not been able to master that skill yet.
