The students were surprised how quickly the plants that received the plant food in comparison from last year without the plant food. \r\nThe second nine weeks started with technology and what better way to teach technology then demonstrating it with hieroglyphs from Egypt, the students enjoyed reading about the development of the writing system and learning how it was considered ancient technology. The papyrus paper gave the experience of paper and how it originated from plants. The terracotta clay helped them to use a popsicle stick to print their names as the Egyptians did, while a few students opted for the papyrus paper. \r\nThe glue guns helped to build a base for our clay structures in our architectural design. The clay was too heavy to use by itself to form buildings, therefore with the glue guns students were able to build a frame first and them place the clay on. They enjoyed the experience to comprehend the reason for frames in architectural designs. \r\nThe Gifted students could really understand after researching real-world careers in archeology, being a gardener and all the work that it takes it weeding, planting, and using plant food in the garden. As well as the importance of understanding an entire process of what it takes to be an architect and a builder and the proper way to make a frame and not just a design on a blueprint. The \"oh my goodness expressions\" once they realize at this level of the importance in the career fields. The were able to grasp the importance of learning and the longevity of how education is important in their futures.\r\nIn conclusion, I know this type of learning I was only able to give them so far this school year would never have been possible without your generous donation. Please know that your support has made a profound impact on my Gifted students' learning, and I am deeply grateful for your contribution to my classroom. The kindness you have demonstrated helped my students see it is more than a teacher wanting them to be successful but, a community that donated, a person who does not know them but was willing to be an active participant in their education.
