They were so amazed they could keep the books. Some of the students chose the same book and talked about getting together with each other and having a little book club. Although I know they will not be able to do that without their parents I was just excited to hear them discuss reading over the summer and wanting to have a book club. As a teacher it makes me so happy, and I am considering setting up a small book club during class for them next school year.\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students can now bring their imaginations alive with color and possibility as they read. This summer, they will have the chance to dive into worlds they've never seen before from enchanted forests and bustling cities to the depths of the ocean and the far reaches of space. Your donation for the books is so much more than paper and ink. It's an open door to curiosity, creativity, and confidence. For many of the students I serve, summer can be a time when learning slows down, and opportunities feel out of reach. But thanks to you, this summer will be different for them. The books I selected were based on their reading levels and interests. I would like you to picture this: a child curled up under a shady tree, completely absorbed in a story that makes them laugh out loud. Another, sitting cross-legged on the bedroom floor, eyes wide as they discover a fact that changes how they see the world. A group of brothers and sisters passing around a book, each taking turns reading aloud, their voices carrying the joy of shared discovery. These moments help the sparks of wonder and are the direct result of your kindness.\r\nYour gift ensures that every child who walked through my classroom has two books to read this summer and will find something that speaks to them, challenges them, and inspires them. You are helping to nurture not just readers, but dreamers, thinkers, changemakers, and future leaders. On behalf of myself, and the many young readers whose lives you've touched, thank you for believing in the power of books. Your generosity is a story worth telling and retelling for years to come. \r\nOnce again, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation, it is a powerful statement of your belief in my mission \"reading matters\" as well as \"Reading Equals Success\". I explained to my students how I wrote the grant and the discovery of strangers who were kind with their generosity and belief in the power of reading that directly enabled me to purchase the books, that every dollar you have given was placed to purchase the selected books. I understand that there are many worthy causes you could choose to support, and I am deeply honored that you have placed your trust in me. Your commitment inspires me to continue to work harder, dream bigger, and never lose sight of teaching and the power I have to help change students' lives. Please know that your gift will have a lasting impact not just today, but for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1778013198777,"projectUrl":"project/reading-equals-success/10258429/","projectTitle":"Reading Equals Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Palso","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5018812_orig.jpg?crop=2448,2448,x0,y783&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723132132021","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5018812"},{"teacherId":9071453,"projectId":9637141,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for the generous donations. I started this year not knowing what to expect and the classroom still surprised me. I knew moving from 3-5 grades to K-2 was going to be a new experience for me, but it was an even bigger change than I expected. The students were all non-verbal except for 1, and their special needs meant that they were not able to work yet on their grade level. They needed centers and manipulatives that they would be able to play with and learn at the same time. \r\nUnfortunately, many of the items from the previous teachers were gone so I didn't have anything to fill that gap. Thanks to your donations I was able to get those much-needed manipulatives and storage for them. They have been enjoying them using them in creative ways along with the ways they were intended. This allows us to work with the students while the others are playing independently and then rotating through the class.\r\nThank you so much for the generosity, it means so much.","fullyFundedDate":1757898938663,"projectUrl":"project/centers-for-special-needs/9637141/","projectTitle":"Centers for Special Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fernandez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9071453"},{"teacherId":9071453,"projectId":9539083,"letterContent":"When I started this school year I wasn't sure what to expect. I had been teaching special needs students for a few years but they were in higher grade levels and in those years I only had one nonverbal student. Imagine my surprise this year when seven out of nine k-2 students were nonverbal. I realized I was unprepared and needed to make a quick pivot. \r\nWith your help, I was able to create many visuals for the students and create a warm and fun environment that they could learn in. I was also able to create activities for them that are laminated so they can do them over and over.
