This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My hope with this project is to bring more sensory items to my speech room and alternative standards program to help students who have sensory differences. As much as 90% of with autism have sensory differences, and sensory supports are a tremendous need in public schools.

A tent swing can be used to increase or decrease arousal levels, and getting students to their optimal arousal level is imperative to engaging and learning!

My students with speech and language impairments often have sensory differences as well that need to be addresses sufficiently and the sensory tools on the shopping list will help me students tremendously, from fidgets to alternative seating.
