This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These items will be used to create a sensory room and calm down area for students with disabilities at a Title I school in Charlotte, NC. We have limited funding and lots of sensory and behavior issues.

This space would be an ideal place for children to process their emotions and have a sensory break.

Our children come from diverse backgrounds and deserve a safe space at school to decompress and reflect on their day apart from the general education students and other special education students. This allows our EC team to form better relationships with these children and hopefully decrease behavior incidents.
