Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are joyful, curious, and uniquely expressive. They attend a public school where inclusion and creativity are at the heart of our learning community. I work with students who have a range of disabilities—some are on the autism spectrum, some are deaf or hard of hearing, and some have Down Syndrome. Each one of my students deserves the opportunity to move, create, and shine in their own unique way!
Dance is a powerful tool for self-expression, connection, and growth.
It helps my students build confidence, improve coordination, and express themselves without needing words. But to make movement meaningful for all learners, especially those with sensory or communication needs, we need the right tools.
That’s why we are seeking support for sensory-friendly, tactile props: activity mats, scarves, beanbags, and more. These tools will help create an immersive, hands-on dance experience that engages my students through movement, touch, and rhythm!
