Sensory and Social Skills to Help Military Kids Succeed!
Help me give my students sensory items to calm their nerves and anxieties and a social skills curriculum, Superflex, to teach them strategies to be the best version of themselves.

Our school is a group of many different ability levels, many coming from a military background, but all work hard at being their very best!
Every day is an adventure and we are continuing to learn more and more. We learn to read, sharpen our math skills, write, engage in social skills lessons and enjoy every minute of it. Ours is a school where students come from all over, many with parents who are deployed or serve in the military.
These students are some of the hardest working individuals you will meet with a drive to continue learning. With our differing abilities, we all need different tools to help us be the best students we can be.
My Project
Active brains cause active students. We love for our students to be attentive. Sometimes they need items to keep their hands or legs still and we have found with sensory items - stress balls, modeling clay and more - they are able to do this. We found by using these sensory items, they are able to attend to the task at hand and assists with keeping their mind on their learning.
Social skills are a part of education that is continually declining.
Students are having more and more difficulty working in groups and problem solving social issues. This Social Skills Curriculum will help us address the needs of our students social skills through a direct instruction program and provide our students with the social tools they need to become the best they can be!
