This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a behavior analyst working in the school system, I am dedicated to serving special needs students. I am continually inspired by the unique qualities and strengths each of my students possesses. Each student brings a unique perspective and set of strengths to the classroom, enriching our learning community in profound ways. Whether it's a student with autism exploring sensory materials or a student with ADHD engaging in hands-on activities, I am constantly inspired by their growth and progress. Their enthusiasm, resilience, and genuine curiosity fuel my passion for creating engaging and inclusive learning experiences.

During our sessions, I prioritize hands-on, sensory-rich activities over traditional methods like iPads and paper-pencil tasks.

I firmly believe that providing fun, interactive materials not only captures my students' attention but also caters to their diverse learning styles and sensory needs. For example, the Wikki Stix will provide tactile stimulation, helping students develop fine motor skills while also using it to create shapes,numbers,letters, etc. By incorporating manipulatives such as tactile objects, sensory bins, and interactive games, I aim to create a more naturalistic learning environment where students can actively engage with the material and make meaningful connections.

My goals for this project extend beyond simply acquiring teaching materials. I aim to cultivate an environment that celebrates diversity, fosters a sense of belonging, and empowers students to reach their full potential. By integrating manipulatives into daily lessons, I hope to create a dynamic and inclusive space where every student feels valued and supported in their learning journey. Together, we can empower these extraordinary learners to thrive and succeed.
