This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are amazing! They are eager to learn and participate in new activities, however they often have difficulty paying attention and have many sensory needs that I address throughout the day.
My students are 5 to 7 years old but are all functioning at a 2 year old level academically.
All of my students have limited social skills and have significant language deficits in expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language skills. They need hands on sensory toys and manipulatives to help engage them in learning and increasing attention.
I am requesting sensory toys that will be used to increase my students visual and tactile experience to help them stay calm and engaged. I am requesting play do toys that include letter and number forms that will help my students practice the skills we learn in lessons during less structured situations.
