Sensing the Sensory Needs for Students

Help me give my students the sensory items that they need to be successful. The bouncy bands will help my students be able to work as the timer will be a much needed visual reminder to stop!

My Students

My students are filled with a love of life and an unbound-less amount of energy! They are filled with so many questions about the world. Eager to learn, they are willing to try their best, even when it is one of the hardest things for them to do.

It is amazing to see the students in my class over come challenges that they face everyday!

My class is a special education classroom that focuses on behavior. Students vary in their needs, but all require patience and tools to learn how to handle the world, emotions, and a very complex school life.

On top of the academic learning, students also take time to learn emotional regulation, self calming strategies, and that it is okay to be who you are, as long as you are trying your best!

My Project

My students need extra support when it comes sensory needs. The light up timer will help my students who need that visual cue to end breaks, assignments, and other such tasks, with out being to harsh. The Bouncy bands will help the students, normally to fidgety to focus on work, be able to complete some tasks.

The other sensory items, like the ball set, help students calm down in a moment of frustration or focus on a task.

These items are essential to providing an environment for these students to actually be given a chance to flourish in the academic school setting.
