My Students
Welcome to my PreK classroom! My students are 3, 4, and 5-year-olds who attend a Title I public school in Washington, DC. My class is comprised of all special education students.
As young children, many of my students are in school for the first time.
They experience the world as full of wonder and possibility. This gives me hope and inspiration every day.
My Project
Many of the sensory toys available for PreK students are too small for the students in my class. Tiny items pose a choking risk for my students. The materials I am requesting are safe to be explored with little hands, mouths, eyes, and ears!
By exploring these materials my students are engaging all of their senses, building language skills, developing problem-solving skills, and growing their curiosity and motivation to learn.
The materials I am requesting will help my students engage in active and meaningful learning. These materials will help enrich my classroom.
