This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first-grade teacher in a Title I school, I work with incredible students who face many challenges, including limited resources.

My classroom is in desperate need of individual storage solutions for student supplies and a large instructional rug that supports our daily activities.

The drawer sets I'm requesting will be placed at the end of each table group, providing each child with space to store materials. This will help them stay organized and improve their executive function, which is crucial at this developmental stage.

The new rug with individual squares for each student is essential. Our current carpet is too small, and without designated spaces, students often end up crowded together, leading to distractions and behavior issues. A larger rug will give each child their own space, creating a more structured and calmer environment for small and large group lessons.
