My Project
My students are bursting with creativity and have fallen in love with all things STEM. I have handpicked a few items that will help them conceptualize science concepts, build on their introductory coding skills, and have open ended resources to create. The LEGOs will allow them to explore and build anything they want. I will give them design challenges as well as allowing for free choice building. While working on their engineering, they will also build precious fine motor skills. The Sun, Moon, and Earth model will help bring our next science unit to life! Normally we walk around the room with different balls and a light. Every year it seems to confuse students and this model will truly display how the Earth rotates. Finally, I chose a coding robot for my students. Ever since the Hour of Code Introductory lesson they have become super interested in coding. This will allow them screen free, hands-on practice.
Giving my students access to high quality STEM resources will excite them, engage them, and most importantly help them conceptualize complex topics.
