it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Have you ever tried to learning on a hungry or empty belly? Learning when you are hungry seems impossible! My students have lunch at the end of the day, this is too long for them to go without eating. To ensure we have a successful morning of learning I offer my students a snack in the late morning.
Students need healthy options for snacks to fuel the learning and growing minds.
Many of my students have limited diets and mostly eat junk food! Recently, I stopped cookies, chips and candy from coming into the classroom for snack time. Which resulted in some students no longer bringing snacks. I like to have snacks in the classroom to ensure everyone has a chance to eat a snack and not just those that bring in snacks from home. This can get expensive and our current snack supply is running out. We need help! Working in a low income neighborhood I do not feel comfortable asking families to dig into their pockets, when they do not have the means to do so.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
