My Students

Do you remember boring paper and pencil worksheets? My students need center materials to make learning fun and interactive in our class!

My students are 25 4th graders from a variety of backgrounds.

We have a high military population with the majority of my class having at least one parent in the military. We are also a Title I school which means most of our students come from high poverty homes. My students are eager to learn and love to participate in our class activities. The more interactive the activity, the more they love it!

My Project

I am requesting a variety of interactive materials to make engaging learning centers in my room. A challenge teachers face today is making learning meaningful and interesting in order to motivate children to want to learn. One of the things I have found to help engage children in the learning process is to make it fun and interactive so they don't feel like it is work. Center time is one of their favorite times everyday and I want to keep it interesting for them. The materials that I am requesting will allow students to work in groups, pairs or independently to practice different language arts skills with games, listening activities, and high interest passages. They will be able to interact with the material, not just complete worksheets.

Using a variety of teaching methods is extremely important to help reach all students.

Having access to these materials will address a variety of learning styles and make learning in our class FUN!
