My Students

How do you feel when you are stressed? Would it not be nice to hide in a tent with calming light and sensory tools to be ready to master your most challenging subject matter? When my students are stressed, just like you, they are not at their best and they struggle to learn.

My students come from a diverse background and have many sensory needs in a variety of areas.

My students experience learning differences that are more challenging to address in the "regular" classroom. Some of the students have strong sensory needs; they need certain less or more sensory sensations to feel calm and get in a learning mindset. Let's get it right from the start:

Our school is new but we are aware that sensory needs can be met in the school to make for a better day of learning.

My Project

The squeeze chair and the rolling slide are welcome additions to our (so far) imagined Sensory Gym. It will provide gross motor and vestibular stimulation necessary to prepare all students to sit quietly and focus on learning. The students with Autism often need sensory breaks to get ready to learn, but that does not mean it is not fun for all :) and will help everyone!

The donations for this project will reduce all classrooms behavioral issues - less behavior - more fun!

With less behavioral issues, we can increase our learning and time on task. To build a bright future for tomorrow.
