This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At the end of the day, the school has a time set for students to work on assignments or take additional classes. Usually, during this time students tend to be hungry or feel too stressed out, especially the seniors since they also are feeling the pressure of awaiting college acceptances. As a result of this, I wanted to make sure to use some of this time to focus on social-emotional activities. Such activities as journaling, and community building, thus the social-emotional items and snacks. I want to create a space where the students are able to comfortably work on pending assignments but at the same time give them a space to work through their emotions and have a social space.

As seniors they have had a lot on their plates, making sure that they are on top of their assignments, awaiting college responses, working on scholarships, and fundraising for their activities.

With these resources I am hoping to be able to create a space where there is also a focus on the social emotional aspect and they are able to have a way of destressing.
