I serve in a low-income, rural high school to increase the number of students who achieve post-secondary education credentials. My seniors are bright, capable, and ambitious. I am humbled every day by my students and it's an honor to be able to help move them forward towards their goals.
I have seen so many bright students realize their own potential and grow more confident over the year.
I have been changed by my students and I am beyond excited for them to enter their college careers after graduation. They have worked hard submitting college applications, completing their FAFSAs, applying for scholarships, and working to raise or maintain their GPAs. I believe in my students and am happy I get to be there to celebrate their achievements together.
My Project
Our seniors have worked very hard and we'd like to celebrate their successes as they decide where to go after graduation! The cost of college is already a worry for many of our students, so to add the cost of basic dorm necessities/school supplies can be a lot. I will be raffling off prizes and students can earn raffle tickets simply by telling me their college decision, reviewing their financial aid packages with me, wearing gear from their college of choice, participating in a scavenger hunt, and more!
Moving on to college is very exciting and I want to celebrate the success of my students by providing them with some necessities and some fun items to help them ease their way into college.
I have selected items that I feel are important in making the cost of moving into a dorm and on to college more affordable. The laptop, especially, will save someone the stress of finding a way to purchase one of their own, as it is a very necessary-but expensive-part of a college education. Other dorm essentials and fun dorm items will definitely provide motivation and excitement for all of our graduates!
