Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are part of a large, high-needs, Title I school in the north Bronx. The majority of students come from low-income homes or from homes with limited parental involvement, and they are doing their best with distance learning amidst all the chaos. Most of my students lack any resources to be able to complete assignments.

My Project

I can clearly remember my students, “See you on Monday,” not knowing it would be the last time that I would ever physically see them again. This pandemic has made it very difficult to stay in touch with my students, especially with them being so young and not independent enough to use technology. I just want to surprise them and brighten their day by sending them a postcard with a special message.

Therefore, I’m requesting postcards and stamps.

I also want to send birthday cards to those whose birthdays fall before the school year ends. I’d like to decorate the cards so I am requesting markers and sharpies to write and draw with. I know this will make them happy and excited to receive mail from their teacher!
