Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Among the many subjects being taught at our school are computer online credit recovery classes. Students are taking online classes such as; English, math, history, art, and language.

One hundred percent of our students come from low social and economic families.

However, despite the odds against our struggling students of the 48 continuation high schools, we have the highest graduation rate. In the last three years, we have doubled the number of graduates who earned a high school diploma and walked on stage for graduation. We are very proud of our students' success and we all work together to ensure that our students are responsible, stellar individuals that will become assets in our community.

My Project

"Distant Learning" and "Distant Teaching" this year has indeed been a challenge for students as well as teachers. Many of our students live in small spaces and many have several family members all logging into their virtual courses at the same time during the day. Therefore, with this new learning and teaching platform having a quiet area to work can be difficult at times for students.

The “beats” headphones can be used for distant- learning on their virtual platforms such as iPads and laptops or computers, which will enable them to learn in a more private academic environment and avoid numerous distractions.
