Our students range in age from Kindergarten to 5th grade, and access support in the Life Skills classroom. They are bright, energetic, and joyful. Time in our classroom is filled with friends and fun!
Unfortunately, we can't be together now, and can't access the supports we have in the classroom.
Our students are at home without the things they use daily to support their learning.
My Project
In our classroom we work hard on supporting students' sensory and motor skills, in addition to their social and academic needs. We build sensory diets into each of their days, and work on strength and self-regulation.
With school buildings being closed, students don't have access to the sensory supports we have in our classrooms.
We would love to be able to provide our students with white boards with markers, Theraputty, and fine motor activities to support their hand strength, and with sensory supports that would continue to help them regulate their bodies so they can focus on their learning at home.
I know our students would benefit from these tools while they continue to grow their skills!
