My Project
My 2nd-grade students in rural West Virginia love to dream about going places around the United States and the World.
We are planning on doing a Flat Stanley Project by reading the original Flat Stanley Book.
This story is about a boy who becomes flat when a bulletin board falls on him one night. He is able to do many things and go on many adventures because he is flat. My students will read the "Flat Stanley" book in reading class. and then create and mail our Flat Stanley's to people in different states and countries to go on their own adventures. Their partners will email updates of their "Flat Stanley" adventures to the student's school email accounts with pictures from the state or country. The "Flat Stanley" will be mailed back to the student by the end of the year.
