Your kindness has brought so much excitement and energy into our reading time, and my students and I are truly grateful.\r\n\r\nThese new texts allow us to explore a wide range of reading skills and lessons. Many of the books introduce opportunities to practice comprehension strategies such as making inferences, identifying theme, and analyzing characters' motivations. Several titles also help students build vocabulary, study figurative language, and recognize different text structures. Most importantly, these books give students rich models of strong writing and thoughtful storytelling.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is an active and joyful part of the day. Students choose books that interest them, find cozy spots around the room, and practice reading independently, with partners, and in small groups. We discuss what we read, make predictions, compare characters, and connect stories to our own lives. These shared conversations help students grow not just as readers but as thinkers and communicators.\r\n\r\nMany students have already found new favorites in the books you helped us purchase. Some of our reluctant readers have been especially excited—choosing titles that finally match their interests and reading levels. A few students who typically rush through assignments are now lingering over pages, eager to talk about the characters and plots. Seeing their confidence and curiosity grow has been one of the greatest gifts your donation has made possible.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our classroom. Your support truly makes a difference, and you are helping our students build a lifelong love of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1755768038678,"projectUrl":"project/stack-the-shelves/9460910/","projectTitle":"Stack the Shelves!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dilly","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9582009_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721144830389","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9582009"},{"teacherId":9582009,"projectId":9086348,"letterContent":"In Amelia Bedelia Wraps It Up, students are practicing several important reading skills. One major focus is understanding figurative language and multiple-meaning words. Amelia Bedelia is known for taking expressions literally, so students learn to pay attention to phrases, context clues, and tone to figure out what an author really means. Students are also building: comprehension skills, vocabulary, character analysis, and fluency and expression.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is active, expressive, and hands-on. We don't just read the words—we talk, laugh, question, act out parts, and think together.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who are sometimes hesitant to read have become very enthusiastic with this book. The humor in Amelia Bedelia Wraps It Up really draws them in—when Amelia Bedelia misunderstands something, they stop, giggle, and want to figure out what went wrong and why.\r\n\r\nI have also noticed that struggling readers gain confidence because the story supports them with repetition and clear context clues. Strong readers enjoy picking out the wordplay and predicting Amelia Bedelia's next mix-up. Students who love acting have enjoyed reading dialogue with expression during partner reading.\r\n\r\nThe laughter and engagement have really helped build a positive reading community!","fullyFundedDate":1744201151629,"projectUrl":"project/christmas-magic-page-by-page/9086348/","projectTitle":"Christmas Magic, Page by Page","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dilly","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9582009_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721144830389","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9582009"},{"teacherId":9582009,"projectId":8484336,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your generosity.
