Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My awesome class is made up of 31 sixth graders. In a group of 31, I have 21 boys and 10 girls. About half of the class is GATE identified. The majority of my students receive free/reduced lunch.
In my class, you will see students trying new things, working collaboratively, and creating products that display their knowledge.
This is all possible because I am constantly researching new resources, tools, or ideas to implement in the classroom. I like to mix things up and try new things. By doing that, my students are typically the first in the school to experience new techniques and tools. For example, we are the first to do full flexible seating, experiment with interactive notebooks, and are the ensemble band. All of this makes teaching exciting.
My Project
I plan to grow more as a teacher who teaches students that are identified as gifted and talented. By attending the Orange County Council for Gifted and Talented Education fall conference, I will be able to learn from fellow peers, network, and grow as an educator to make my class more engaging. In order to do so, I need help with the cost of registration. The food is just for lunch at the conference.
As a teacher, I am always learning and growing.
By doing so, the students will benefit from it. I always like to take what I have learned and apply it.
