My Project
One of the foundational pillars of our classroom is student leadership and independence. Kindergarten students are capable of SO much! In our classroom, students fulfill a number of different important jobs throughout the day. We often vote to make decisions as a classroom family. Students are given choices about their own learning.
When students are given ownership they learn “I am trusted, I am important, I belong here.”
With the addition of new child accessible drawers, students will be able to access personal items such as their extra clothing and art smocks without teacher assistance. This is in alignment with the way our classroom currently functions and will enrich this aspect even more.
