My Project

This project is designed to help my students to self-regulate their emotions by using sensory items. The bean bag chairs will allow them the opportunity to learn in a more comfortable environment. The sensory fidgets will help soothe them when they feel stressed and overwhelmed. The calendar and Base Ten counters will assist them in their mathematics and provide them with a way to plan for their day, week and month.

Many of my students are developmentally at a four to six year old level, and they need assistance to learn how to self-regulate.

Many of my students are Non-Verbal and they have difficulties with expressing themselves in a positive manner. Many times they seek a quiet place where they can sit and regroup themselves. The fidgets will allow them a quiet and safe way to self-soothe themselves.

Being at a developmental level of a Preschooler/Kindergartner, I am looking for a calendar that will help them understand their daily schedule and learn some mathematics as well.
