Our school provides a world-class academic education for just over 450 students at our Primary Center of grades k-2. Our media center is used as a traditional place of checkout and reading but also as a media class. Each child in the school is taught in our media center with lessons that enrich upon their grade level standards. Since our media center is the largest classroom in the school, we are constantly trying to find ways to be more efficient while making learning fun!
My Project
Gone are the days of the wooden boxes and paper card catalogs. Students will benefit from using the look up stations and become independent library patrons. Our students like to ask where to look for books and we have an easy search engine but no stands for our devices to rest on. Using these iPad stands will not only make searching for books more fun but also a much more efficient way of running the library. Since the media specialist is often teaching a lesson or checking in/out books, helping students look for a certain title becomes much harder. Our students have the capability to look for their own titles, we just need the setup to be more effective.
