I have a large class this year. This has been something that had made some families and students uneasy due to COVID. My students have come together and shown their support and love for each other through these trying times. My students' social-emotional learning has been something that we are focusing on this year to make sure that they are able to learn and grow academically!
My Project
Students have been living in this COVID world for almost two years now. Due to the isolating nature of remote learning, many students struggle to maintain appropriate attention during classroom learning time. Students need additional social-emotional resources in order to be successful.
In order to facilitate an inclusive classroom where emotionally challenged young learners can be successful, these tools will make a tremendous difference in outcomes.
I hope to create safety and emotional resilience by providing options that teach to the whole child by recognizing their unique needs and challenges in my classroom.
Providing headphones helps children focus and be less distracted during online lessons. Wiggle cushions facilitate learning for students during instruction by allowing for movement while minimizing distraction for others since the student stays seated.
School should be a safe, fun, and successful experience for students and these resources will help facilitate those objectives.
