Self-Expression Through Button Making

My Project

My students are energetic and creative and love to express themselves. Whether it is part of our school Makerspace, or at school-wide events, they absolutely love to make buttons to show the world what they care about, to encourage others, and as gifts for loved ones.

We use our school button maker to help create a sense of community at our school.

Students make buttons at our Back-to-School night featuring our school mascot. They make buttons with mindful and/or encouraging words to keep with them or give to a friend in need. They make buttons about causes that are important to them like clean drinking water, recycling, Black Lives Matter, and kindness. They make buttons for special occasions like Mother's Day. They even make buttons to encourage each other to do their best on our state standardized tests.

As you can imagine, in a school of about 500 students, we go through a lot of button parts in a year to make buttons on our trusty button maker. Thank you for helping us keep the button parts in stock!
