My Project

My classroom needs updating. My classroom is the self-contained, special education classroom at my high school. We currently have 5 students. We have 5 desks and a kidney table in our room. I would love to offer flexible seating, especially since most of my students prefer to not sit at the desks.

It is my belief that if the students are comfortable in their learning environment, then they are more likely to thrive.

My hope is that we can set up a calming area of the room for my students to decompress after meltdowns or to practice those skills to prevent meltdowns.

The rug on and floor chairs on my list will go in the calming area and the cordless vacuum will be used to clean the rug and teach life skills.

The wobble chairs and table will go in our group work area for when we have small groups.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
