My Project

I would like to use my 200 hour yoga teacher training credential to offers my students and fellow staff regular opportunities to practice yoga and mindfulness through a yoga club on our campus. This year, I have had the opportunity to offer some mindfulness practices in my English classes, and students have responded well to offering them time and space for self-care. I would like to extend this offering by starting a yoga club on campus to help students reduce stress, relax, take care of their bodies and mind and have fun. These classes would be free and community building, in the spirit of making self-care accessible to all.

I have recognized the grounding benefits of a yoga practice in my own life, which has fostered a deep sense of gratitude, self-awareness and compassion for others.

I hope to share these benefits of a regular yoga practice with my school community.

Ms. Ashkenes will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by May 14.
