How about Self-Advocacy - for me, that's one of the most important skills for going into middle school - so what if all my students had access to a tool that would teach them to identify their emotions and reset?
Imagine a school where EVERY classroom had a spot all kids can go to breathe & reset when their world gets overwhelming, stressful, emotional, or frustrating.
Maybe it's academic, darn math problems! Maybe a friend in the classroom isn't showing kindness. Maybe things are tough at home and today is overwhelming. Imagine if every teacher can pick out any 25 fidget tools they like. I can picture how excited they'll be to be gifted this resource!

The ones who fly under the radar, doing what they need to do... the star students... and even the ones who take up a big chunk of bandwidth with behaviors. They ALL deserve a chance to get really good at this skill. Too often, the focus is on big needs - which means a lot of kids get 'left behind.'
That's what you're providing with this project -- a chance for EVERY student to have access to a tool that will build self-advocacy and an opportunity to fall in love with themselves - which slips through the cracks all too often. This project provides fidget tools for our sensory bins in Calming Spots for every K-5th classroom to help students check in with themselves and get back to learning!
