My Project

My students need help accelerating their learning! They need assistance becoming self-directed learners and feeling successful. They need to cultivate resilience and accelerate their passion. They are reading at lower levels and have not had access to rich texts at their level. These books and games will continue to enhance my student's self-esteem and build their confidence. My dream is to create a classroom library where struggling readers have many options and can check out books of interest. My students often get embarrassed by the lower-level readers that they need to read to build skills in reading. This reduces the amount they read, thus making them further behind their peers. Many books are not decodable and have too many unknown words making the text incomprehensible. This encourages students to guess and continue the cyclical cycle. They need to practice newly learned skills systematically and have multiple opportunities to practice.

They will also be able to choose books that interest them and not be embarrassed to read them around their peers.

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books and games will continue to help my students become empowered readers.

This project will help to support and accelerate student academic and social-emotional learning by giving them practice, confidence, and choice.
