Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I will be creating a new counseling classroom for K-5th graders at our school. This is the first year for the school to have a specified counseling classroom, and I have a unique opportunity to create a safe, welcoming environment that students will be eager to enter and learn strategies for dealing with emotional challenges that come their way.
The Calm Strips, floor cushions, multicultural colored pencils, and other supplies requested will be used for instructional purposes in classroom lessons, group sessions, creating a calming corner, and providing enrichment materials to be used with the 450 students.
These lessons will meet ASCA outcomes for K-5th graders.
