This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year, I am getting a sweet group of students and my class will be an Integrated Co-Teaching class. This means some students require a second teacher for additional support. More than ever, students need social emotional support in the classroom. I have created a small cozy corner, but would like to add even more resources to help students when they become overwhelmed.
Students know when they need time to themselves and when to use the cozy corner effectively.
These new items and books will help create a more meaningful cozy corner and help me infuse social emotional learning into our everyday lessons and read alouds. I have A Little Spot of Feelings: Emotions Detective and my students last year loved it! I think incorporating more books from this series will be enjoyed.
