My Project

After the past few years, social and emotional learning and having a safe place on campus is a huge component in students having a successful day. Kids today have gone through a lot at an early age with the pandemic, such as, isolation, loss, being online for school and social activities and so much more. Anxiety, is prevalent amongst students and comes in many shapes and sizes. I would love to have resources, along with a comfortable space, for students to go when they need extra support or just a break.

All of these resources are going to help build connections, learn social skills, support students, learn coping skills and help them work through anything that they have been through.

The coloring books, puzzles, brain teasers and more are going to help student build coping skills and be able to tangibly create when coming into my classroom to talk about their lives. The chairs and lights are to give them alternate seating to feel comfortable while talking and working through the stuff they have going on. Fidgets to help them fidget their way through uncomfortable conversations and to help keep focus throughout their day. Student need educators and other school staff now more than ever to help them work through these past few years and more. My hope is to be a stepping stone in their success and helping them build their toolbox.
