My students are my inspiration! They are positive, enthusiastic and resilient. They are eager to challenge themselves in their learning and strive to utilize strategies to cope with the many social and emotional challenges that they may face. I work with about 600 PK-5th grade students from diverse cultures, special needs and varying economic backgrounds.
My Project
There are many different ways to promote SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) but I want to offer a different approach! The project allows for social and emotional learning through literacy and hands on manipulatives such as Legos and sand. For elementary students, this project will provide materials that are engaging, fun and interactive. It will allow for social and emotional discussions and lessons but offered in a safe and inviting manor. By providing SEL services in this unique way, students will thrive socially and emotionally which is also greatly impact their academics and overall well-being!
