Help me give my students a rich collection of engaging books including graphic novels, social-emotional learning (SEL) texts, chapter books, and stories about autism, that support their unique learning needs and celebrate their identities.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love that my students show up every day ready to learn, even when learning can be challenging for them. They are curious, creative, and full of personality. Each student brings their own unique perspective, and our classroom is a place where we celebrate those differences.
The books I’m requesting will support their social-emotional development and help them grow as readers and individuals.
Graphic novels will spark interest and build confidence in reluctant readers, SEL books will help students learn to manage emotions and build healthy relationships, and stories that feature autistic characters will help them see themselves reflected in the pages—promoting both self-understanding and pride. Chapter books will help them build stamina, fluency, and a lifelong love of reading.
These resources will create a reading environment that’s inclusive, meaningful, and empowering for every student in my class.
