This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are Title I students who need support in social emotional literacy as well as phonemic awareness. Students are working through these skills in small groups and talking about their emotions. We are working to make literacy more interactive. This can be done through the items chosen. Teachers are being trained in LETRS and this allows the staff to create a tier two program that is engaging and meets several different needs.
Social emotional learning is also key to keeping the students aware of their needs and how to express those needs.
